Information of FPV on RC Model

FPV stand for “First Person View”, it is a term on RC model, use the technology of wireless to achieve the “First Person View”.

Normally when we play RC Model such as helicopter or plane, we are second person view, we are not on the sight of the model and therefore we need to imagine how the model reacts with your plane. “First Person View” just like you is piloting the plane.

How to achieve it? Of course we need a camera on the plane. It should be with a small size so it wouldn’t affect the plane action too much. Micro cameras always use the “line” to describe the detail of video that the cameras take. Let’s say 300 lines to 700 lines.

Also we need the wireless video transmitting to transfer the real time video image. The video transition always uses of three types of frequencies: 1.2 GHz, 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz. For most of the Transmitter we will use 2.4GHz therefore 2.4GHz video transition is not suggested. Also for some RC models that use the GPS, Most GPS use 1.2GHz transition so we can use 5.8 GHz to reduce the chance of interference.

After the transition, we need a monitor to show the real time video to achieve the “First Person View”. We can set the monitor above the monitor or use the goggle to displace the video. It’s really an awesome experience of playing RC Model.
