Syma S107 Speed Mods

Speed Mod 1

As everyone know, Syma s107 is a coaxial featuring stability over speed. But now if you think you manage this rc helicopter well enough, then you may go for the speed mods! The mechanism is making it easier to lean its center of gravity, which is balanced by the flybar, by reducing the balancing effect of flybar. And it is a very easy modification with just few steps.

First, take off the 0.4g weights from flybar, then put the covers and screws back. After dropping the weight, this remote control helicopter would be much responsive and at higher speed, meanwhile remain the rock-solid stability. In addition, it enhances the turning ability greatly.  This is achieved by shifting the shaft in larger angel, and offering more forward forces, thus in a higher speed.

Killbucket’ s black s107 is reli cool! Love it!

Speed Mod 2

Glue a 0.28gram airsoft BB into the nose for pushing the center of gravity a little bit forward. Simple, isn’t it?

Speed Mod 3

By unscrewing the landing skids and move the metal rods forward by 1cm, this further shift the center of gravity forward and give more forward force to the syma s107.

Speed Mode 4

It’ s interesting to increase the forth/back speed by adding one more rear propeller. This is done by pushing the original rear prop down and put the second one on top.

Commnets

  1. I removed the flybar weights, slid the skids forward, and added the second prop to the tail. After doing all this, it is a LOT faster now. It also seems like it added a little time on the battery life. Feels like a new chopper now. Thanks guys!!!

I did all of these seperatley and tested in between each one…really happy with the outcome

  2. I don’t understand how to ad the second tail motor

  3. Where can I send a s107 for repair. The lower rotor no longer engages. Thanks

  4. Whats the difference between motor A and motor B? i broke my tail motor and was wondering if i could use one of the main motors from another rc heli. as a tail motor? thanks

  5. I just took out the flybar weights and slid the skids forward; made quite the difference. I am interested to see what adding a second prop to the tail will do.

  6. Cris have you checked the gears if it’s in place?p

Hey Rellik…you arent adding an extra motor…you are adding an extra propellor to the back…. if you push down the prop….you should be able to fit another on top of it…

I have been messing around with my s107 and made some modifications to it. I removed the tail boom, the cassis plates and replaced them with carbon fiber cutouts from a 1mm dragon plate. I also installed a blue light at the tail under the motor. The rear rotor propellor was removed and a rear rotor propellor from an Air hog was installed. This made the heli fly in reverse so I unsoldered the lead wires and reversed them at the curcuit board. Doing this i was able to get a much faster forward speed. I also removed the small weight from the canopy.

The main frame is 1mm carben fiber and the tailboom is 3mm CF tubing.

  9. I can’t figure out how to get the weights out of the balance bar. Help

  10. What is the fly bar for s107

  11. @Chaz Your not taking the weights out of the balance bar….your removing the weight bars off the flybar!!

@Tyrone smith The flybar is the tailshaft that hold the rear rotor motor. The two bars mounted underneath that connect the body to the flybar are the weights.

  12. they must have changed the flybar, as it no longer has screws holding the weights in. you cant remove them easily anymore.

  13. Hey Rellik…you arent adding an extra motor…you are adding an extra propellor to the back…. if you push down the prop….you should be able to fit another on top of it…
