4G6 blade mods DIY

Here I found an innovative guy, timewrex who put efforts on modifying his 4G6, from wingtip to tail rotor blade. Here is how he mods the blade to increase its efficiency and survivability after crash.

He stated this mod is intended to be removable and Replaceable. On average, it takes 5 crashes before the paper tips affect performance.

Good quality white glue such as ‘Elmer’s Glue All’ should be used, as it offers strong enough bonding to the paper, carbon core, and foam. Other glues will make it difficult when remove, and it will leave an irremovable residue on the carbon core and may melt the foam. White glue forms a very strong bond while stay easy to clean it after all.

To remove damaged paper tip, cut a slit in the paper parallel to the carbon core. Avoid cutting the foam or the carbon core. Then tear the paper tip off.

Finally, cut another tip from the template and apply to the blade following steps 6 to 11 in the instructions below. Then you will have a brand-new looking blade, which is still performing as good as when it out of the box, that cost almost nothing to repair! Enjoy!

DIY Gloved Hand motion control RC Helicopter

Did you imagine surfing internet just like what Tom Cruise did in his movie “Minority Report” ? Though it maybe a long way get real, controlling RC helicopter by motion looks like something in very near future. Mike W demonstrates us his project while working at the USC Institute for Creative Technologies this summer over the course of about 2-3 weeks. And what’ s exciting us is he proved that even cheap model helicopters can be controlled in motion capture, this must give a big push towards innovative control mechanisms.

4G6S

ABOUT 4G6S

4G6S is the first palm size helicopter equipped with 3-Axis Gyro with Auto Stabilizing Technology, with these you can perform aerobatics indoor. It’ s highly recommended for pilots who are going to transit from coaxtial / fixed pitch to collective pitch helicopters. Don’ t mix up with the other model 4G6, it’ s difficult to manage without 3 axis gyro. Back to 4G6S, it’ s self stabilization via 3-axis gyro make this helicopter super stable, handle wind excellence, and the tail holds well too. Though the foam blade is easily damaged and probably be prepared for buying extra spare set of gears, the cost is low.

After a flight, you will found that the 4g6s motor is VERY hot and may result in lost of torque. So, don’t forget to let it take a rest between flights.
